WIA&WID II: part of BBMH 2007

2 June 1 2007, 7-9pm

The Who I Am & What I Do networking event and directory is open to all, irrespective of race, sector, or location within the UK.

The main aim is to promote social inclusion through speed-networking, by introducing and linking statutory, community and voluntary organisations, professionals, entrepreneurs, funders, artists, poets, and music and cultural industries businesses and personnel, using the inter-active G-Networking technique.

We thank the 80 or so people of varying backgrounds and ages who braved the rain and bad local traffic to attend the first one! Especially those that made presentations on behalf of Heritage Lottery Fund, Scarman Trust, Brent Libraries, etc. An hour after our official closing time people were still engaged, networking!! Some people have asked for the event to be repeat, whilst others wish it can be organised in their locality - we'll keep you posted, if you're on our mailing list.

The event was organised by BTWSC (www.btwsc.com), a pan-London, not-for-profit voluntary organisation that promotes social inclusion through community events and training programmes, and BritishBlackmusic.com/Black Music Congress (BBM/BMC) (www.britishblackmusic.com), a forum for discussing black music issues and networking, in association with Brent Libraries.

Please note: This is an un-funded initiative driven by the need for more networking expressed among the community and voluntary sector at BTWSC events, and among the black music sector at the BMC event. So if you can't make the networking, make sure your details are included in the online directory. Resources and partnership opportunities permitting, the networking evening can be held in different locations in London or the UK. Networking events may be photographed and videoed.
