Government ministers, prime ministerial hopefuls, mayors, pressure groups, the media and parents often blame music for the woes of society. This debate aims to separate the wheat from the chaff, by separating the hype from reality, in order to find out what role, if any, music plays in influencing behaviour. Particularly, behaviour that causes social ills.
