PETITION TO SAVE GOSPEL SHOW ON CHOICE FM
Listeners to the popular gospel show on Choice FM will be in for
a surprise on 1st January 2006 if the current plans go ahead.
The Positive Inspirations show hosted for 10 years by Dave P,
which plays 3 hours of gospel music from 6am to 9am every
Sunday, is to be changed into a format that is inclusive of all
religions. This means that the show will not play 100%
gospel music and may include some music that content of which
will offend the Christians. We
are asking for your support to keep the gospel show and that all
of the content should be geared towards it’s primary audience,
which is the Christian community, in the Majority Black
Churches. The Church has supported this show for more than ten
years and will keep doing so. Leading Praise and Worship artist
Mark Beswick commented that “there are already a number of DJs
covering a wide spectrum of music, my
concern is that if we lose the integrity of the programme
we will lose a number of fans of the programme.
As a listener and Christian I strongly urge GCap to
reconsider their stance and allow the show to continue”.
It
is important to note that this is one of the main outlets for
gospel music and where British artists can hear their song on
the radio and a local church can have their event publicised.
To
register your vote to keep Positive Inspirations 100% gospel
forward this email to savethegospelshow@hotmail.com
and then forward to as many people as you can which will then be
forwarded to GCap Media who recently acquired Choice FM.
