CLOSED NEW OFFER: We've got copies of Gargamel - 'the international word in reggae & urban music' magazine - plus copies of the 'Together As One: A Tribute To Damilola Taylor' CD, to give to the next 30 people to book for the March 13 debate. You need to book via booking debate/event. Magazines and CDs will be available for collection at the beginning of the debate upon registration. In addition to the reggae, soca, hip-hop, R&B/soul and African music reviews, featured artists in this edition of Gargamel (no. 17 Feb-Mar 2004) include Bounti Killa, Roy Ayers, JJC (Big Brovaz), and Dennis Alcapone. Priced £3, Gargamel now comes out every two months. For more information, contact editor/publisher Melissa Sinclair via mel@campro.freeserve.co.uk or gargamel web The 'Together As One' CD covers British pop, R&B and garage music which pays tribute to the memory of Damilola Taylor. What's amazing is the fact that this compilation, which contains tracks, including some hard to find remixes, ranging from Blue's 'Made for Loving You', Craig David's 'Hidden Agenda' (Plasma Remix), Liberty X's 'No Clouds', Ms Dynamite's 'Put Him Out', to Mis-Teeq's 'One Night Stand' (Blacksmith Remix), could not be placed with a label! The lead track, 'Wake Up The Morning', features the likes of Gabrielle, Des'ree, Damage, and Courtney Pine! Thankfully the Evening Standard decided to support the CD by offering it as a cover-mounted item, of which 10p from each paper sold of the Nov. 27 2003 edition (celebrated the third anniversary of Damilola Taylor's tragic death), went to the Damilola Taylor Trust for charitable purposes. www.damilolataylortrust.org/ Magazines and CDs will only be given to winners who attend the Saturday March 13 2004 debate on a fist come first served basis (must be collected at registration). |
